Logistics integrator UPS from Atlanta has confirmed this week it will slash up to 30,000 operational roles this year and shutter at least 24 facilities, as the integrator accelerates its withdrawal from low-margin Amazon volumes and leans ever harder into automation.

The announcement, made during a rather uneventful quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, 27 January, marks the third consecutive year of significant headcount reductions following the elimination of 48,000 jobs in 2025.
