MOSOLF Logistics Protection Program

Kirchheim/Teck, 29 April 2020 – Health and safety at work plays a central role during the corona pandemic. The MOSOLF Group has developed an in-house package of measures to implement experts’ recommendations and increase levels of protection for its employees. The “MOSOLF Logistics Protection Program” is being continually updated and adapted to the latest findings and standards from government ministries. From 1 May 2020 onwards, access to all MOSOLF business sites is only possible through a so-called “MOSOLF Health Gate”, for example. Any people suffering from respiratory problems or a temperature will not be allowed to access a site.

The standardised process at the MOSOLF Health Gates is aimed at preventing any spread of the coronavirus at workplaces. Before anybody enters a site, a health check takes place; people have to respond to a standard questionnaire orally and their temperature is measured using infrared equipment. If there is the slightest suspicion of an infection, the person, whether an employee or an outside visitor, is barred from entering the site. Employees must immediately place themselves in quarantine until a doctor has clarified the situation. Anybody wishing to enter a business location will also be given personal protective equipment (PPE), including a face mask, at the Health Gate. Nobody is allowed to enter the site without proper PPE either.

We want to give our employees, customers and suppliers the best possible degree of safety that’s available for their daily work,” says Dr Jörg Mosolf, CEO of the MOSOLF Group. “Our business locations form an enclosed and safe network, thanks to the newly introduced MOSOLF Health Gates. We’re protecting our employees through them and are also minimising the risk of having to close sites.”

The MOSOLF Group had already communicated and introduced recommendations for action to deal with the coronavirus across the Group at the beginning of March. Washing and disinfectant facilities were set up at all the sites, for example, employees were asked to work from home or in shifts and personal protective equipment was distributed to all the locations. The measures are adapted and supplemented in close cooperation with the local works councils as well as health and safety and occupational medicine specialists. 

People who often come in contact with transport documents have to wear disposable gloves. Masks are obligatory for people who are often in contact with others or whose work means that they cannot continually maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other people. The gloves and masks have to be changed several times a day and disposed of safely.

No records of the state of health of employees or outside visitors will be stored at the Health Gates for data privacy reasons. Any persons, who are certified as being immune, must present their evidence from a health department or a doctor every day or each time that they wish to gain entry.
