Management change at DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics Southern Europe – Javier Villahermosa takes over from Federico Camañez

After a long and successful career of more than 44 years in the logistics sector, Federico Camañez has personally decided to conclude his career, leaving his position as Managing Director Southern Europe at DACHSER as of March 31, 2022. Javier Villahermosa, who had successfully led Dachser´s Cargoplus division in Iberia during the last 8 years, will take over the position and assume responsibility of Dachser´s Air & Sea Logistics business in the Southern Europe region,  consisting of the three country organizations Spain, Portugal as well as Turkey.   

Federico began his career in 1977 when he joined the shipping company Transbull Valencia, S.A., starting in the world of shipping. After performing different functions for 8 years, he then decided to enlist in the field of Forwarding, joining Transunion as responsible for operations and customer service. In view of the international expansion carried out by the company, to which he intensively contributed as Country Manager, opening different offices all over the world, he was finally appointed International General Manager of the Group in 1999. 

Following the acquisition of Transunion, S.A. by Dachser in 2013, he was appointed Managing Director of the Southern Europe area (Iberia and Turkey) for Dachser´s Air & Sea Logistics business field.

During this time, he has managed to build a stable and successful team that has represented DACHSER in Southern Europe offering a high level of quality and service, both to customers and to the worldwide network of the company.

His successful work and charisma have led him to achieve great accomplishments throughout his career and to be a valued and recognized person in the industry, so Dachser expresses its gratitude for all the years of dedication and development of his tasks and wishes him a new stage in his life, more relaxed and deserved retirement.

New Managing Director DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics Southern Europe

Director ASL Southern Europe Mr. Villahermosa will lead the ASL country organizations in Spain and Portugal. Mrs. Gökcen Atalayer will continue to be Managing Director for DACHSER ASL Turkey and report to Mr. Villahermosa.

After completing his studies in Foreign Trade & Business Administration in Spain and Germany, as well as several Masters in Business, Management & Leadership in Switzerland and Germany, Javier joined, in 1997, the Swiss multinational Danzas, subsequently joining DHL where, for more than 15 years, he was leading different Operational, Development and Management teams as COO DHL Freight Southern Europe. In 2014, he joined Dachser and was subsequently appointed General Manager Cargoplus taking care of Dachser Iberia´s Full-Truck-Load Business as well as Maghreb for large customer accounts.

His extensive experience in management positions, his knowledge of the logistics sector and his leadership and management of people and teams, have led him to be appointed as the new Managing Director of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics in Southern Europe.

In addition, his experience in the Southern European markets and his work in complex multinational environments will help him to take the lead in this new phase.
