Kerry Logistics has appointed John Parkes (pictured above) as its managing director for integrated logistics.
Mr Parkes joins from Hong Kong apparel sourcing and supply china giant Li & Fung, where he spent four years as global business development head for Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Although the bulk of his 35-year career has been spent at Li & Fung, he boasts a varied CV. This includes stints at Freightlink as general manager of business development and as regional manager for Cargo Carriers in South Africa.
Kerry’s group managing director William Ma said: “John’s in-depth knowledge and on-the-ground experience make him an excellent captain to steer our course in these challenging times of accelerated supply chain shifts.
“With his insights and expertise, we can make great strides in our global IL business.”
Mr Parkes will be based in Hong Kong and bear responsibility for overall management of the company’s integrated logistics work.
He said: “As the logistics industry undergoes rapid change in the face of new demands and technological advances, I look forward to giving my best to reinforce Kerry Logistics’ position and grow its business through formulating sustainable strategies and innovative solutions.”
