Alina Fetisova has been appointed as the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s regional cargo manager for the EMEA region.
Ms Fetisova will join IATA from her role as trade facilitation manager at the International Trade Centre, before which she spent a year working for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe as a consultant.
She said: “After several years working on trade facilitation and development across Africa, Central Asia, and South-east Asia, I am happy to step into a role that brings me even closer to the heart of global trade flows – air cargo.
“Air cargo plays a critical role in enabling international trade, connecting markets, and supporting resilient and efficient supply chains. At a time of rapid change, driven by digitalisation, ecommerce, and evolving regulatory environments, there is a strong need for collaboration across the entire ecosystem.”
Based in Geneva, Ms Fetisova will be working closely with air cargo stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Centra Asia and the Caucasus to “support the development of efficient and sustainable cargo operations, advance digital transformation and data-driven processes and strengthen dialogue between industry and regulators”.
