Forwarders – well, those who replied to the Stifel Logistics Confidence Index – are feeling OK about the next six months, even, in fact, slightly happier. Air freight has been strong and is expected to remain positive this year, according to the index. (Anecdotally, however, The Loadstar has spoken to a few forwarders and carriers who are less than cheerful about air freight over the next half year.) Over in ocean, while the longer term outlook is positive, current volumes are contracting for the first time in 19 months. And they are feeling miserable.
