Turkish shipping company Avrasya Shipping, Kazakh cargo air operator Sigma Airlines and Jordanian maritime firm Med Wave Shipping have all been placed on the European Union sanctions list, accused of breaking the arms embargo to Libya’s Tripoli-based government, according to Euractiv. It alleges that the Avrasya con-ro vessel Cirkin made two shipments to Libya in May and June. However, the Turkish government has hit back, claiming the EU has ignored arms shipments from the UAE to a rival government led by Khalifa Haftar, based in the east of the country.
