The trend in the air cargo industry to move from weight-based pricing to volumetric, or dimensional, pricing was met with an outcry from shippers who felt it was unfair. Well, it looks as if more shippers will feel the effects on their budgets, as the two largest express operators, FedEx and UPS, extend the policy to ground shipments measuring less than 0.01cu metres, which will include a lot of e-commerce business-to-consumer traffic.
