Well, we all know that Apple and its rivals don’t share out their supply chain spoils evenly between the carriers. Nevertheless, air freight rates did tighten during the high-tech launches. So this news, that orders for iPhone 5 parts have been cut 50% following poor sales, isn’t good for the struggling air cargo industry. The smartphone market in general is saturated in developed economies, so the focus now is on cheaper phones in emerging markets.
