Gefco Freight Forwarding has announced five new appointments as it looks to develop its time-critical and project cargo business.
New to the company are: Valentin Elistratov as global commercial director; Karin Van Den Brekel as life sciences and health care global manager; Peter West as country director for Australia and New Zealand; and Alicja Szewczyk as global HR people and culture manager.
Katherine Shek (pictured) is the only internal appointment, moving from her role in charge of the North Asia region to drive growth in South Asia, in particular Singapore and Thailand.
With more than 70 years’ experience between them, the five are part of the company’s plan to develop across growth sectors.
The company said: “With proven track records, these experts will each play a key role in driving Gefco’s freight forwarding business expansion worldwide, serving an expanding portfolio of industrial customers with diverse requirements.
“In particular, the division will reinforce client value in the life sciences and healthcare sector and consolidate its activities in Asia and Pacific, reinforcing the company’s ‘Partners, unlimited’ approach.”
