Geodis hopes to boost its e-commerce business with the appointment of its first global head of e-commerce solutions.
Ashwani Nath, who has been global market line director retail for Geodis for the past three years, has taken on the role. Prior to joining Geodis, he spent some eight years at DHL Global Forwarding.
Mr Nath will report to Philippe de Carné, group chief commercial officer, and be responsible for building end-to-end e-commerce and omni-channel solutions.
Geodis says it “intends to strengthen its position in the booming e-commerce logistics sector in Europe and around the world by developing e-fulfillment infrastructure in warehouses, order management systems for cross-border last-mile and customer service for end-to-end visibility”.
“I am confident in Ashwani’s ability to create value for both our customers and our group by designing innovative global e-commerce solutions,” said Mr de Carné . “Ash’s deep experience and knowledge of the logistics market make him the real expert to optimize our customers’ supply chains with end-to-end solutions dedicated to the omni-channel e-commerce sector.”
