Logistics property developer Goodman expects global consumerism to continue fuelling its development activity, reporting strong first-half results with profits up 9% year-on-year to $388m. Speaking to The Australian, chief executive Greg Goodman said the space required by e-commerce operators on an annual basis was “very large”. “It’s a real game-changer. It’s been going on for a number of years, but as the middle class in Asia is growing, it’s accelerating,” said Mr Goodman. The company yesterday announced it would build a new logistics centre for US e-commerce behemoth Amazon in California.
