Four Ukrainian producers have been given the go-ahead to start exporting poultry and poultry products to the EU, opening the door to a potential 50,000 tonnes of trade this year according to Ukraine’s Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysyazhnuk. The export approvals given on 24 July follow an EU decision late last year to add Ukraine to the list of approved poultry providers. A report on The Poultry Site quotes ’expert opinion’ that the country’s poultry export trade could reach 200,000 tonnes over time.
