South Korean 3PL Taewoong Logistics will work with Kazakhstani food manufacturer and distributor Shin-Line to develop warehouses in Kazakhstan – another indication of the shifting supply chain as the war in Ukraine continues.
The move will facilitate the transport of Shin-Line’s food products to Russia and Central Asia, and Taewoong and Shin-Line are planning to open warehouses in Almaty.
A Taewoong spokesperson said, “We plan to promote collaboration on the local warehouse business so we can provide more convenient services to, not only Shin-Line, but other Kazakhstan businesses with the need to get goods into Russia and Central Asia.”
Shin-Line is a large Kazakhstani food manufacturing and distribution company whose main products are ice cream and other dairy items. Shin-Line is Kazakhstan’s largest ice cream exporter and, while its main markets are in Russia and Central Asia, it is actively targeting overseas markets.
Last year, Shin-Line’s exports increased more than 30% on 2020, with sales of about $100m expected this year. Currently, Shin-Line is building the largest ice cream factory in the CIS, with completion scheduled for next year.
Taewoong CEO Han Jae-dong said, “Since the establishment of our logistics centre in Busan last year, our business expansion has been smooth. Our collaboration with Shin-Line marks our entry into the Kazakhstani market, following going into Hungary and Barcelona this year.”
