Chinese domestic liner operator Dalian Trawind Shipping has joined the rush to order new containerships.
It has ordered two 4,600 teu ships at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, at $40m each, to be delivered in the first quarter of 2025.
Trawind said it would either operate the vessels itself or charter them to other operators.
The company expanded its liner services in March, starting a joint domestic service, FAX2, with Cosco’s intra-Asia unit, Shanghai Pan Asia Shipping, and another domestic coastal liner operator, Quanzhou Ansheng Shipping.
