Hacking into the port of Antwerp’s IT system enabled drug gangs to remove entire containers from the port, unnoticed, in a plot which began in 2011. Shipping containers are now integral to the drug trafficking business, and with only some 2% inspected, it’s an effective way of moving illegal goods, say police.
