(New York, January 7th) FIATA was present in New York for the 7th Session Open Working on Sustainable Development. FIATA joined other major stakeholders with the common goal of ensuring that logistics and transport were given focus when drafting SDGs for the post 2015 development agenda.
FIATA utilized the session to promote its view with reference to its recently published position paper: FIATA’s Post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals must include Logistics Connectivity. FIATA met delegates who shared common goals and similar view points. We utilized the session as an opportunity to collaborate with other stakeholders on how to achieve SDGs focused on logistics connectivity. One particular stakeholder with similar view points as FIATA, the International Union of Railway, delivered a presentation at a side event which outlined the need for transport as a driver for economic growth.
