A strike at Felixstowe must be the last thing that Hutchison Ports wants, especially after the bruising it had in Hong Kong earlier this year with its 40-day fight with workers. Nevertheless, members of Unite are in dispute over proposed changes to workers’ terms and conditions and they have voted to strike if an agreement cannot be reached. As yet, there is no published timetable on a deadline for negotiations.
