Not strictly cargo, but interesting to see that Delta has stopped paying its $50m subs fee to the Airlines for America (A4A) lobby group that coordinates the endlessly entertaining spat between Middle Eastern carriers and the three US airlines who accuse them of receiving state subsidies. The split appears to be a political move, unconnected to the high membership fees – Delta said A4A had not supported it sufficiently on “policy issues”, while chief executive appears to think of his company in a different class to American and United, according to this article anyway, and sees “Delta’s peers not to be other airlines, but high quality industrial transport companies like UPS, FedEx and big railroads”.
