Great expectations should see East Africa’s air freight hubs flying
Despite the general grim outlook for air freight, it seems intra-regional demand for shipments passing ...
The three crew involved in the Ethiopian Airlines freighter crash on Saturday have been released from hospital, according to the airline for which the flight was operating. Asky Airlines, the Lomé-based carrier, had wet-leased the 737-400F, which skidded off the runway at Accra when attempting to land after a flight from Lomé. Airport officials are blaming the crash on poor weather, while other sources have claimed that the runway is too short. The aircraft, ET-AQV, which was thought to be carrying general cargo, is a write-off, as the gear collapsed and the right engine sheared off.
