PayCargo has appointed Christian Dornhaus as its MD for Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia (EMEIA).
Mr Dornhaus joins from Coyote Logistics, where he spent a year as VP sales. He has also spent nine years at FedEx Logistics, where most recently he was MD EMEIA. He has also worked at Panalpina, Bolloré and Dachser.
“This is an exciting time to be joining PayCargo’s leadership team, as we witness a huge uptick in adoption of digitalisation across the freight industry, which is supporting our platform’s rapid global growth,” said Mr Dornhaus, who will be based in Madrid.
“Companies across the EMEIA region are increasingly seeing the value of adopting modern digital solutions that enable efficient, sustainable operations, and with our scalable platform, we are able to support them.”
PayCargo claims to be ontrack to process some $10bn of freight-related payments this year, a 250% increase on 2020.
“We envision a substantial portion of our future growth to come from the EMEIA region under Christian’s leadership,” said Eduardo Del Riego, global CEO.
However, PayCargo continues to be something of a boys’ club. While just one of its eight-strong executive team is a woman, head of HR, 100% of its board of directors and 100% of its management team are men, a poor showing even for the male-dominated freight and technology sectors.
