“Open book”, “transparency” “inter-dependency”. These, apparently, are the new watchwords in the apparel supply chain – whereby vendors and suppliers work together to be profitable with a focus on the value chain. So says Mark Green, evp global supply chain for posh clothing company PVH. The question now is whether logistics partners count in that chain too. Because sentences such as “we’re moving from price to value”, and “we want our vendors to be profitable” would be music to the ears of freight service providers.
