Boeing’s no doubt pleased with this latest order from Qatar Airways: five 777 freighters. Chicago Business Journal reports the deal – so far just a letter of intent – values the aircraft at around $1.7bn. With that being list prices though, what Qatar eventually pays will likely be lower. Even so, it displays the country’s continuing bravado amidst the ongoing stand-off with its neighbours – including Dubai, which boasts the world’s largest cargo carrier in Emirates.
