Small and mid-size shippers in Japan are set to benefit from a new service from Nippon Express and Amazon. The pair are launching a logistics operation, at about a third of the current cost, for Japanese companies to ship to the US, store the goods in Nippon Express or Amazon warehouses and then sell them on through the Amazon platform. The products will arrive faster and be more competitively priced than via normal shipping. The initiative has been pushed by the ministry of economy, trade and industry, which wants to help boost exports.
