Interesting op-ed from Freightos chief executive Zvi Schreiber, who has responded to senator Elizabeth Warren’s call for e-commerce behemoth Amazon to be subject to greater regulatory oversight. He argues that Amazon’s creep into the logistics industry, spearheaded by its Fulfilled by Amazon product, to which has subsequently been added freight brokerage and global logistics services, will sooner or later veer dangerously close to being a monopoly. “While delivering value, Amazon is becoming dominant in more key markets than any one company should be. It’s also edging closer and closer to an anti-competitive practice called tying.”
