A concise yet illuminating piece of research on whether retailers would happily switch delivery providers and use Amazon. Within the next few weeks the e-tail behemoth is to launch its Shipping with Amazon service, starting in Los Angeles. But would rival retailers trust Amazon to deliver? According to this survey, conducted by Internet Retailer, the answer is a “resounding yes”. More than half would switch – but they are expecting delivery to be cheaper. And there are concerns that Amazon’s incursion could weaken the big express companies to such an extent that there would no longer an alternative.
