Nikkei Asian Review takes a look at the factories springing up along the Southern Economic Corridor, which links Bangkok with Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. More factories are increasingly beginning to appear in Cambodia, including Coca-Cola and Toyota, despite minimum wage hikes, after the ASEAN economic community kicked off in December. Now, some 73 companies are based in the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone – and there are plans to expand it. There is also a special economic zone on the border with Thailand. A worthwhile read for anyone curious about South-east Asia.
