French transport and logistics group Geodis is to acquire a controlling stake in Polish road freight operator Pekaes from investment group Innova for an undisclosed sum.
Established in 1958, Pekaes operates one of the leading full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL) and groupage networks in Poland, serving around 10,000 shippers a year across its 20 branches.
After a transformation in 2009, it expanded services to include intermodal road-rail transport and sea-air freight forwarding, and employs around 1,200 people.
