Beijing is “seeking the moral high ground” in the trade dispute, according to this report in the South China Morning Post. It claims China’s government has filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organisation over Washington’s latest round of tariffs. The US government imposed a further $300bn of tariffs on Chinese imports on Sunday, with China announcing the legal action on Monday in response.
