Contship Italia has appointed Alfredo Scalisi as general manager of its flagship terminal at La Spezia.
Mr Scalisi served as deputy general manager of Medcenter Container Terminal’s Gioia Tauro facility, after beginning his career in 1997 at Gruppo Altran. He has experience in shipping, and the oil and gas and energy sectors.
Group president Cecilia Battistello said Mr Scalisi had “assumed a very important position” within the group during “a transformative period” for the industry.
“La Spezia Container Terminal is playing a key role in this ongoing transformation and we shall continue to support our customers with a range of terminal and logistics services delivered with the highest quality,” she added.
“In addition, we are continuing with our significant investment programme at the terminal which includes increasing both the quay and rail capacity.”
