There is a lot of news coverage about new cars being recalled by manufacturers because of faults, but the sheer numbers are beginning to get overwhelming. In the US alone more than 13m cars and parts were recalled in the first three months of 2014 alone! In 2013, some 28m cars and parts were recalled over the course of the year, which itself was 54% more than 2012. And as you might expect, that it beginning to have a huge impact on the automotive supply chain, with General Motors, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Ford all feeling the strain.
