XPO Logistics has appointed Christopher Synek as its president of transportation in North America.
He will have profit and loss responsibility for XPO’s brokerage, expedite, intermodal, drayage and global forwarding business units.
Mr Synek joins XPO from Tervita Corp, a $6bn energy and environmental services company, where he served as CEO for two years, having completed a 16-month stint as chief operating officer. Prior to that he worked in senior executive roles at several waste companies.
He will report to Troy Cooper, chief operating officer of XPO Logistics. Mr Cooper said: “Chris has an impressive history of galvanizing operations across multiple service offerings. His skills align perfectly with our results-oriented culture.”
