Aero Africa, a Hong Kong-based air cargo management group, has welcomed two specialists to its management team in China and southern Africa.
Joey Xu joins as director airfreight Asia. She has wide experience in airfreight and joins from M&M, where she was head of airfreight China, with previous similar roles at On Time Express and Shipco.
Ms Xu will be responsible for overall airfreight development of the group in Asia, with a focus on procurement with carriers, and optimising neutral scheduled airfreight consolidations from Asia to Africa.
She will also assist the business development team in promoting its African solutions to the Asean freight forwarding and aviation community.
Aero Africa Southern Africa also announced the appointment of Gary Tobias as regional operations manager.
Mr Tobias will be responsible for the regional airfreight import and cross-border operations of Aero Africa. He began working in the wholesale industry at CFR Freight, where he soon moved into a key accounts role, and then ran the Cape Town airfreight operations. He has now relocated to Johannesburg.
