Nowhere are the e-commerce stakes and prizes as high as China. The world’s most populous nation is an avid shopper of goods online. But how to fulfill all those sales, particularly for all the foreign goods that consumers want, which last year totalled $505bn in sales? Giant Chinese retailer ad e-commerce operator Suning was earlier this year awarded the first international courier licence by the Chinese government, indicating its interest in the cross-border e-commerce trade ad, pitching it into competition with Amazon and Tmall. But what type of operation will it build?
