Virgin Atlantic Cargo has promoted Sumith Rathor (pictured above) to be its regional sales manager for the UK.
He has been account manager for the UK since 2014, after joining the carrier a year before as a customer service agent.
Prior to joining Virgin, he had spent more than a decade with Uneek Freight Services, where he held numerous roles across imports, exports, accounts, and IT management.
The new role will see him based at the carrier’s Cargo Point office just outside London, replacing Ray Wood, who is to take over as head of cargo at Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Director of cargo sales Steve Buckerfield said: “Since joining our sales team, Sumith has built a loyal following and helped increase our revenues with key accounts through his strong customer focus approach. I am sure under his leadership the UK region will continue to go from strength to strength.
“I also want to thank Ray for his contribution to the strong growth we are continuing to see in our UK business and wish him every success in his new role,” Mr Buckerfield added.
