Pure-play contract logistics operator GXO has appointed Michael Jacobs (above) as president of the Americas and Asia Pacific.

Mr Jacobs, who was most recently SVP of supply chain at plumbing and heating supplies distributor Ferguson Enterprises, will take up his new role on 3 November.

He has over three decades of experience in all aspects of supply chain operations, spanning consumer packaged goods, retail and industrial, with previous stints managing the supply chains of coffee make Kuerig, and before that Toys ‘R’ Us.

He will be based in Dallas, and succeeds Jorge Guanter, who was appointed to the role in late 2023. The move is one of the first appointments of GXO’s new chief executive, Patrick Kelleher, who took up the role two months ago.

“The changes we’re announcing today sharpen our focus on growth, simplify our structure, and lay the groundwork for stronger execution across the organisation,” Mr Kelleher said.

“The Americas and Asia Pacific region is brimming with growth potential, and now is the right time to reenergise our approach to match its dynamics and opportunities. I am thrilled to welcome Michael to GXO,” he added.

Additionally, GXO today named Gavin Williams as the new president of its UK & Ireland division, and Paul Mohan to the equivalent position for continental Europe.

Meanwhile, Richard Cawston, who has served as president of Europe and chief revenue officer since 2024, and “will pursue new opportunities outside of GXO yet will remain until a new chief commercial officer is appointed”. It added that a search for a new CCO had begun.

“Streamlining the regional management structure will accelerate decision-making in these important markets. I am grateful for Richard’s many contributions to GXO over the past few years and appreciate his willingness to stay on-board to ensure a seamless transition,” added Mr Kelleher.
