There is little surprise here, but it would appear that Irish aviation group ASL has never given up on its desire to buy TNT’s airlines. It was due to have acquired them if UPS had bought the European integrator, and now, through its 51% shareholder Compagnie Maritime Belge, ASL has registered an interest in taking on the two airlines if the FedEx deal goes through. No decision has yet been made, however.
