when Maersk announced Emma Maersk(14500 teu) rates
plummeted – so my guess is that this news will put
a dagger in the hearts of some ‘financially’
strapped carriers, who will fear a repeat of that.
Maybe its Maersk’s final plan to eliminate
‘pesky’ competition, goodness knows rates are
at subsistence level on many routes – thank
goodness for low cost oil — at least
