Kim Overman

The UK’s largest privately owned freight service provider, Uniserve, has appointed Kim Overman as its first group chief operating officer.

The company said the position had been created to support “ongoing growth and to build on success”.

Mr Overman was most recently global head of retail at Damco, based in Hong Kong for the past 11 years, specialising in supply chain management and forwarding services. His 34-year career has also seen him hold senior positions at MSAS and Fritz/UPS.

“Having only worked for three companies in my career, moving to a new company was never going to be something I would take lightly. But joining Uniserve was a very easy decision to make,” he said.

“Being part of a forward-thinking business which is innovative and provides quick decision-making in an ever-changing global market gives me the opportunity to use my experience, and I am really excited at the growth strategy within the Uniserve Group.”

Uniserve group managing director and founder Iain Liddell said: “This is an exciting appointment for us as we look to refresh and improve our operational platform now that the UK is moving into a new era of global trade.

“While we operate across many markets, Kim’s additional knowledge of the retail sector, and his extensive experience throughout Asia, makes him a perfect fit for us and will no doubt provide further benefits to our many retail customers.

“I would like to take the opportunity to publicly welcome Kim and wish him every success within our organisation as we prepare for a more global Great Britain,” he said.
