A High Court judge has blocked the planned reopening of Manston Airport, in Kent. A judicial review of the government’s decision to give the go-ahead has been launched, after Judge Justice Holgate ruled that the Department for Transport (DfT) failed to give “adequate justification” for approving the plans when he gave the green light in July 2020. The latest ruling does not mean the airport won’t go ahead however: a new application will now be reopened, with new consultations, reports New Civil Engineer.
