Air cargo technology provider CHAMP Cargosystems has appointed Gianluca Marcangelo (above) as vice president of Neo program engagement.
Mr Marcangelo has joined the company from Challenge Group, which he joined in 2021 as senior manager of vertical operations & cargo transformation at its operation in Liège. He was later named head of industry relations and marketing, moving to the Malta HQ.
He has more than 25 years of experience in airfreight and logistics, beginning his career in 1998 with a US-based freight forwarder, before joining Global GSA Group in Italy in 2000. He later relocated to the Oman Air head office as customer service manager, before being promoted to manager of special products development and digital innovation.
In his new role, he will lead customer engagement and drive the transition to CHAMP’s next-generation cargo management solutions, Cargospot neo.
“Gianluca’s deep industry expertise and passion for innovation make him the ideal leader to drive our Neo Program forward,” said CHAMP CCO Nicholas Xenocostas. “His appointment reinforces CHAMP’s commitment to helping customers embrace digitalisation and future-proof their operations.”
Mr Marcangelo added: “I’m truly excited to join CHAMP Cargosystems at such a pivotal moment in the company’s journey. With the launch of Cargospot neo, CHAMP is setting a new benchmark for cargo management technology.
“I look forward to working closely with our more than 100 airline partners and key industry stakeholders worldwide to support their transition to the Neo platform and to help accelerate their digital transformation journeys,” he added.
