The Gemini Cooperation carriers, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, have announced a slew of blanked sailings for Chinese New Year (CNY).
With CNY on 17 February, the holiday will be marked by 16 blanked sailings across the Gemini network.
They will apply to sailings on seven Asia-US services and five Asia-Europe, according to Hapag-Lloyd.
To the US east coast, affected are the US1, which will end after calls at Busan on weeks 7, 8, and 9 of 2026, and the US2, which will call at Savannah and omit Norfolk in weeks 8 and 10.
To the west coast, the WC1, WC3, and WC4 will not sail in week 9, and the WC2 will be blanked in week 8.
Asia-Europe blankings include the NE1 and NE3, in week 9, and Asia-Mediterranean services due to be blanked are the SE1 and SE2, in week 8, with the SE3 blanked for week 9.,
Maersk informed its customers that impacted cargo would be “reviewed and, where possible, re-accommodated on the next available sailings”.
