Less-than-container load (LCL) specialist Vanguard Logistics has appointed freight forwarding veteran Ivan Garcia (above) as its new regional managing director for Europe, while corresponding positions in the Americas and Africa also have new leaders.
With over 18 years of leadership experience in the global freight forwarding industry, including 12 years working in various roles within Kuehne + Nagel’s sea freight forwarding division, as well as two years with Hellman heading up its LCL forwarding in the Middle East and a further two years in a similar role with DB Schenker. Mr Garcia joined Vanguard Logistics in July before being promoted to his new position.
‘We are committed to driving operational excellence and strengthening our end-to-end network. Our new regional leaders will help us build stronger trade flows and expand opportunities for our customers across global markets’ said Christopher Smith, chief executive of Vanguard Logistics.
In addition, Salvador Camaraza (below) has been appointed as regional managing director of Vanguard’s Americas region, responsible for North America and Latin America. The move represents something of a return for Mr Camaraza – a 14-year stint with Vanguard came to an end in 2020 when me moved to ECU Worldwide. However, he rejoined to Vanguard Logistics in 2024 and has since “led the revitalisation of the brand across South America”.
Vitor Rodrigues has been appointed as the Regional Cluster Head for Latin America. Previously, Vitor managed country operations for Vanguard Logistics in Brazil, where he drove business growth and enhanced customer experience. He has also held multiple leadership roles within the logistics industry.
Hatem Farouk (below) has been named regional managing director of Africa and Agent Network. Mr Farouk joined Vanguard in June last year after 24 years with construction equipment distributor Mantrac where he headed up supply chain operations.
“Our people drive our success. I am pleased to see our team members advance and take on larger regional leadership roles,” Mr Smith added.
