Hong Kong-headquartered 3PL EV Cargo Solutions has appointed Martin Davies (above) to the newly created role of operations director as the company continues its strategic transformation.
In his new role, Mr Davies will oversee all key operational activities, including managed transportation, fleet performance, carrier management, contract logistics as well as health and safety.
The company said his hire was part of a “multi-year transformation strategy”, by which it was attempting to differentiate itself “through its highly effective hybrid resource model, which strategically combines the reliable fixed capacity and specialist capability of its optimised fleet with the enhanced flexibility and efficiency of an expanded base of carefully selected third-party carrier partners”.
“The blend of own fleet and trusted third-party carriers is a powerful proposition for large customers and ensures an efficient and highly sustainable solution,” Mr Davies said.
“I’m looking forward to helping the business deliver its strategic plan while ensuring customers benefit from our comprehensive and industry-focused solutions,” he added.
Mr Davies was most recently commercial and operations director of Fowler Welch, where he “successfully helped the company achieve consistent year-on-year EBITDA growth over 10 years, seamlessly integrated multiple acquisitions into the business and secured significant new contracts through innovative data-led customer proposals”.
Other previous roles include a stint as director of operations in the east Midlands for Bidvest 3663, and national operations director for UK wholesaler Palmer and Harvey.
“Martin is an exceptional addition to our leadership team to enhance our ability to deliver quality integrated logistics solutions combining capacity and agility,” Andy Humpherson, CEO of EV Cargo Solutions, said.
“The Solutions division supports the wider EV Cargo business and having someone of Martin’s insight and experience to lead our operations will help us deliver our strategic plans and excellent customer solutions,” he added.
