EU Commission freezes ETS carbon emissions law for airlines

Massive news – the European Union has decided to put a temporary stop to Europe’s emissions tax on airlines in the hope that new legislation from the UN aviation body – ICAO – will tackle the problem on a global basis. It has given ICAO until next November to come up with new proposals. You can read EU Commissioner for Climate Action Connie Hedegaard’s statement here.
