While it was encouraging to see groups of students and schoolchildren visiting Air Cargo Africa last week, such participation is something of a rarity in this industry. This good, short blog in Retail Week appeals for greater visibility of the supply chain business to students, which would help address the shortfall in new trainees. “Young career-seekers are simply unaware of the opportunities open to them in logistics and supply chain”, it said – and it is up to the industry itself to spread the word.
