The vast Nicaraguan Canal project, first proposed in 1825, will not only be challenging to finance but returns on investment could be very small, according to this article. Hong Kong’s HKND Group has a 50-year concession to build and operate it, but has yet to produce a feasibility study for the $50bn project, which began last month in a bid to rival Panama.
