Michael Dyhre Hansen, CCO air & sea at DSV, has announced that he is to leave the company on Friday, after nearly 43 years at the Danish forwarder.

He reportedly began his career at KE Freight Forwarding in Denmark, joining DSV in 1984 in the US, becoming EVP based in Atlanta in 1988. He was appointed MD for the UK in 2012, rising to CCO air & sea in 2017.

Mr Hansen said on social media: “It has been an incredible honour and privilege to serve this company for most of my life. DSV will always hold a very special place in my heart.

“As I now decide to step back from my responsibilities, the company is well positioned commercially for the future.

“Being part of the journey — helping build the air & sea organisation from a small Danish freight forwarder into the world’s largest global freight forwarder — has truly been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Looking ahead to 2026, I’m excited to spend more time with my family, enjoy morning coffee, and walk the dogs along my beach.

“To all customers, suppliers, and, most importantly, colleagues — thank you for being part of this amazing journey.

“It has been a true pleasure working alongside you, and I wish you all continued success.”
