Birna Ósk Einarsdóttir

APM Terminals has appointed Birna Ósk Einarsdóttir (pictured above) as its new chief commercial officer (CCO), replacing Jonathan Goldner, who became head of Asia in September.

She will be based at HQ in the Hague and assume her new post in January, moving from Icelandair Group, where she also serves as CCO.

Prior to Icelandair, she served as CCO at Iceland Telecom and executive VP of marketing and business development at Landsvirkjun, Iceland’s national power company.

“Birna’s experience within customer service, sales, marketing and technology will further strengthen the important role that the APM Terminals’ commercial team plays in bringing our ‘Safer, Better, Bigger’ strategy to life,” said Morten Engelstoft, CEO of APM Terminals.

“Technology and data are becoming crucial for our operations and Birna’s 16 years’ experience in telecoms and IT will be of great value,” he added.

Ms Einarsdóttir said: “I am excited to join the APM Terminals organisation that plays a vital role in global trade. I have been fascinated by the developments in technology, and how quickly new things are introduced and how much they can change our society, our opportunities and organisations.”

She holds a degree in leadership and management from Háskóli Íslands (University of Iceland).
