An interesting supply chain case study here. Tesla Motors, an electric car manufacturer, has been unable to fulfill orders as its suppliers hadn’t believed the demand would be there. It can’t find an adequate supply of auto parts and it is trying to fine-tune its global manufacturing processes. This has been made all the more complicated as it starts its first deliveries to Europe this week, and plans to expand its reach in Asia through the rest of the year.
